Apart from following skincare routines suitable for your skin type, creating a hair care routine is of utmost importance. We tend to neglect hair care and put complete focus on our skin. Even if we try caring for the hair, we mostly think it would be enough to apply oil and use a good shampoo and conditioner. But there is much more to it.

We try our best to look good daily, and the way our hair looks has an impact on our personality. Nobody likes to go out with oily, dull, or crimped hair.  Many factors can leave your hair looking messy and affect the scalp as well. Toxins, pollutants, and chemicals in the atmosphere undeviatingly bombard our hair and scalp. They take away the natural shine and irritate the scalp. The most common problems faced include dandruff, irritation in the scalp, oiliness, and dry roots. Regular toxin build-up can lead to sensitive scalp syndrome, folliculitis, hair loss, and stunted hair growth. All of these symptoms can also be a result of hair products accumulation. Some of them may have waxy substances that are left behind on the scalp and accumulate there. That is why it is best to use good quality products while building a hair care routine. Take a look at some of the steps for a hair care routine.

STEP 1

Always start with a thorough cleansing of the scalp. As previously discussed, all the toxins, chemicals, and unwanted substances like dead skin cells start accumulating. So, it is best to clean it entirely before moving onward with any other product. To treat oiliness and dandruff, try looking for a shampoo containing fungicide. Ketoconazole, zinc pyrithione, and selenium disulfide are some fungicides that help with this scalp concern. Tea tree oil and natural oils are a substitute for chemical fungicides. Also, try not to apply too much shampoo to the tips of your hair. It is because it can cause them to become brittle and dry.

STEP 2

The next step in your hair care routine is the use of a conditioner. Always try to apply it from the mid to the tips, avoiding the scalp. Conditioners are also a factor that can start accumulating the scalp, leading to clogged pores.

To find a hydrating conditioner that will help treat dry, rough, and brittle hair, look for the ones containing coconut oil (improves flexibility), hydrolyzed keratin (prevents breakage), jojoba oil (brings shine and nourishes), and other oils. Deeply nourishing ingredients help lock in moisture, making your hair look bouncy and lustrous.

STEP 3

Now, take a serum, oil, or hair lotion if you face the problem of dry, brittle hair along with split ends. Many deep conditioners or leave-in conditioners are available that don’t require rinsing. Apply them onto wet hairs.

In the list of oils, coconut and olive oil contain Vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids that have proven nourishing to the hairs. You can also use argan oil (vitamin E & fatty acids), castor oil (anti-oxidant & antibacterial), jojoba oil (vitamin A, B, C, D, and minerals), and macadamia oil (fatty acids and vitamins).

STEP 4

If you want to use heating tools, make sure to apply for protection against it. When heat is applied, the hair fibers tend to cook. It makes them more prone to damage. To create a barrier between heat and hairs, always use a heat protection spray.

STEP 5

To protect your scalp from damage, use a scarf or piece of cloth when you are outside. This option might not be for the people who have thin hairs, as the hair will look limp afterward.

We hope that our simple tips for a beginner’s hair care routine will help you on your journey to get the hair of your dreams!
